Population Structure

Last updated at 3/10/2026

The dataset Population Structure provides key demographic and socio-statistical indicators for regional analyses. It includes the percentage of foreigners in the total population and the percentage of foreign women among all foreigners. Partnership dynamics are shown through divorces per thousand inhabitants aged 18 and over and marriages per thousand inhabitants aged 18 and over. Integration processes are depicted by naturalizations per thousand foreigners and additionally per thousand inhabitants. The BBSR Gender Index provides an assessment of gender-specific inequalities in key areas of life. Additionally, the percentage of asylum seekers in the foreign population and their percentage in the total population are reported. The data is available at the district level and by postal code areas, enabling reliable regional comparisons, monitoring of integration and equality, and providing a solid basis for research, planning, and reporting in administration, business, and civil society.
