The dataset Age Structure provides a detailed overview of the population structure by age and gender. It includes the average age of the population in years as well as percentage shares for key age groups, including residents under 3 years, 3 to under 6 years, 6 to under 18 years, 18 to under 25 years, 25 to under 30 years, 30 to under 50 years, 50 to under 65 years, 65 to under 75 years, 65 years and older, and 75 years and older. For selected age segments, the shares of female residents within each age group are also available, specifically for 18 to under 25 years, 25 to under 30 years, 65 to under 75 years, 65 years and older, and 75 years and older. Additionally, the dataset includes the proportion of women in the total population as well as the proportion of women in the age group from 20 to under 40 years. All shares are reported in percentages. The data is available for spatial analyses at the level of municipalities and postal codes and is suitable for assessing child and youth shares, proximity to working-age population, senior shares, and gender distribution, for example, for demographic comparisons, planning needs in education and care, or evaluating regional market and location potentials.
