The Employment Structure dataset provides a comprehensive overview of the qualifications, positions, and participation of employees subject to social insurance contributions in Germany from the perspective of workplace and place of residence. It depicts the proportions of employees with academic degrees, vocational qualifications, and without qualifications, each differentiated by workplace and place of residence, and in percentage terms. Additionally, at the workplace, the requirement levels of expert, specialist, skilled worker, and assistant are specified. Structural indicators of employment participation include employees subject to social insurance contributions at the place of residence per hundred persons of working age, separate figures for women and men, as well as for foreign residents of working age. Age-related quotas show employees aged 15 to under 30 years and 55 to under 65 years per hundred persons in the respective age group. Additionally, the dataset includes the number of employed persons per hundred persons of working age overall and by gender, the proportion of self-employed among all employed persons, overall part-time shares and among women at the workplace, the ratio of young to older working-age persons, the proportion of employed benefit recipients according to ALG II, proportions of marginally employed persons aged 65 and over overall and separated by men and women, the proportion of short-time workers among employees subject to social insurance contributions at the workplace, and underemployment per hundred employed persons. The dataset is suitable for regional comparisons, location assessments, skilled labor monitoring, and labor market policy analyses. The data is available at the district and postal code level.
