The Security dataset describes crime rates at the regional level. It includes the number of registered crimes per 100,000 inhabitants and the number of cases of residential burglary per 100,000 inhabitants. The key figures are available for districts and by postal code areas. Normalization per 100,000 inhabitants enables reliable comparisons between regions of different sizes and the observation of changes over time. The dataset supports spatial analyses, regional comparisons, as well as the planning and evaluation of prevention and security measures. It can be combined with demographic and structural indicators to create risk profiles, identify hotspots, and generate reports, maps, and dashboards. Thus, it serves as a basis for evidence-based decisions at the local and regional level.
