The dataset "Studienangebot" provides a compact overview of key figures on the study landscape and educational participation in Germany. It includes the percentage of international students, the proportions of male and female students among all students, the percentage of first-semester students, and several indicators of the regional density of students. These include the number of students at universities and universities of applied sciences per thousand inhabitants, as well as separately the number of students at universities of applied sciences per thousand inhabitants. Additionally, the study participation of the young population is represented by the indicator "students per hundred inhabitants aged 18 to under 25 years" in percentage. The data is available at the municipal and postal code levels, enabling precise comparisons between regions, assessments of internationalization and gender distribution, and a differentiated analysis of the local higher education structure. The dataset is suitable for educational reporting, municipal planning, location analyses, research, and monitoring trends in access to higher education and regional study demand.
