The Economic Performance dataset provides a comprehensive overview of the regional economic structure and productivity situation. It includes shares of gross value added in the primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors as a percentage of total gross value added, as well as key figures on value creation and productivity, including GDP per capita and per employed person in thousand euros, total gross value added per employed person, and sectoral gross value added per employed person in the primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors. To assess industrial performance, foreign sales and sales in mining and manufacturing per active person, sales in the main construction industry per active person, and sales in crafts per active person in thousand euros are available. Investments in mining and manufacturing per active person complement the perspective on capital intensity. The corporate structure is depicted by the shares of establishments according to size classes of employees subject to social insurance contributions, ranging from under 10, 10 to under 50, 50 to under 250, and more than 250 employees. To assess economic stability, the dataset also includes the number of corporate insolvency proceedings filed per thousand businesses and the average expected creditor claim per filing in euros. The data is available for analysis and comparison at the district and postal code level, enabling well-founded location analyses, industry comparisons, and monitoring of regional structural and productivity differences.
